Your Data Is Safe Here
jrvaPhotoShare is built from the ground up to keep your personal information out of the hands of data brokers, advertisers, and Big-Tech platforms. Here's exactly what that means.
The Problem
When you use most photo sharing platforms and social media services, your data doesn't stay with the service you signed up for. It gets harvested, packaged, and sold. Your photos are scanned for faces, objects, and locations. Your usage patterns are analyzed to build a behavioral profile. That profile is sold to data brokers, companies whose entire business is buying and selling personal information about you.
Data brokers aggregate information from hundreds of sources to build comprehensive profiles on individuals. These profiles can include your shopping habits, health indicators, financial status, political leanings, family relationships, and daily routines. They're sold to advertisers, insurance companies, employers, political campaigns, and others, often without your knowledge or meaningful consent.
The scale is staggering. The data broker industry generates billions of dollars annually. Hundreds of companies you've never heard of hold detailed profiles on you, your family, and your friends -- built in part from the photos, contacts, and habits you've shared on platforms you thought were free.
What We Don't Do
jrvaPhotoShare categorically refuses to participate in the data harvesting economy. Here is exactly what that means:
- No tracking pixels We don't embed invisible images in our pages to monitor your behavior or share it with third parties.
- No cross-site tracking We don't follow you around the internet. When you leave our site, we have no idea where you go.
- No data brokers We never sell, share, or trade your personal data with data brokers or anyone else. Ever.
- No facial recognition We don't scan your photos to identify faces or build biometric databases of you, your family, or your friends.
- No AI training Your photos are never used to train machine learning models or artificial intelligence systems.
- No behavioral profiling We don't analyze your usage patterns to build profiles about your interests, habits, or preferences.
- No shadow profiles We don't create profiles on people who haven't signed up. If someone views a shared album, we don't track or identify them.
- No advertising network connections No ad pixels, no retargeting, no ad exchanges. We have zero connections to advertising networks of any kind.
- No engagement algorithms We don't manipulate what you see to keep you scrolling. Your albums are your albums. Simple as that.
- No metadata harvesting We don't mine your photos for hidden data like GPS location, device information, or timestamps to build profiles.
- Only one cookie The functional session cookie that keeps you logged in. That's it. No third-party cookies, no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies.
What We Do Instead
- Minimal data collection We collect only what's necessary to provide the service: your email address (for login and account recovery) and the photos you choose to upload.
- Encrypted storage Your photos are stored encrypted at rest on secure cloud infrastructure. They're delivered via time-limited, cryptographically signed URLs.
- Subscription-funded Our revenue comes from customers who pay for the service, not from selling data to advertisers. You're the customer, not the product.
- True deletion When you delete your account, your data is actually removed. Photos and albums are permanently deleted within 15 days. We don't keep shadow copies.
- Full data export Download all your photos and account data anytime. Your data belongs to you, and you can take it with you whenever you want.
- Open communication Reply to any email we send. A real person reads it. No "do not reply" addresses, no automated runaround.
